Great Ayton Parish Council in partnership with Visit Great Ayton are happy to announce that Great Ayton Christmas Fayre is making a comeback this November.

What happened at the fayre

Here's where you can find out about all the fantastically festive things going on at the Christmas Fayre this year! Please note that the fayre itinerary may change. We'll keep you updated.

  • Santa's Grotto
  • Live music from Pek and Wanley - "Probably the North East's best ramshackle, hipster-hop, hillbilly, folky, pop and rock acoustic cover duo"
  • Festive craft stalls
  • Kids activities tent
  • Kids rides and hook-a-duck
  • Food and drink stalls
  • The Big Christmas tree switch-on
  • Snowman Trail
  • Schools' Christmas colouring competition winners
  • Supplementary activities at Great Ayton Discovery Centre, including: harp music from Anita Aslin and kids activities.

4.15pm Schools' colouring competition winners announced

Christmas Fayre History

The Christmas Fayre was first started in 2016, organised by Great Ayton Business Forum with the support of Visit Great Ayton, which proved a great success bringing in a footfall of over 1000 visitors. The fayre returned in 2017 which saw the footfall double.

Bring on the lights

Every year Great Ayton Parish Council aim to improve the lights at Christmas. This year there will be additional lights at the Christmas switch on funded by the Parish Council put up with the help of local businesses.

The Parish Council and Visit Great Ayton encourage our wonderful High Street businesses to decorate their shop windows and remain open during the fayre (wherever possible) in a festive and truly Great British High Street style!
